#CreativeClimateAction: The Air We Share Documentary

Filmed by Tom Flanagan during artist residencies in 2024–2025, this documentary explores how art, science, and community engagement intersect to make the invisible air we breathe visible. Through multimodal practices – sound, light, textiles, and data – artists Leon Butler, Christopher Steenson, and ‘a place of their own’ (Sam Vardy and Paula McCloskey) work with residents of Westside, Galway’s decarbonising zone, alongside scientists and local partners. The film follows their processes and collaborations, showing how artistic practice can respond to climate action, translate data into lived experience, and open up new forms of civic imagination.
